Inspection of the establishments

Each Region has an inspection team. This team is made up of regional and federal inspectors. They regularly inspect Seveso establishments based on a set inspection system

They carry out a planned and systematic inspection at each Seveso establishment: 

  • Inspections take place according to a plan, as it is impossible to be present everywhere at the same time, or to check all prevention systems for all risks within a company at once.
  • The inspection department applies systematic methods to detect any errors. The risk of a major accident will depend on the chemical and toxic nature of the dangerous substances. These risks cannot be observed during a normal inspection visit. To do so, you need special inspection techniques
